A Mass of Jellyfish

Are jellyfish more abundant in Long Island Sound this year because of warmer water temperatures? Sally Harold of The Nature Conservancy sent me a handful of photos, two of which are below, of jellyfish near the beach in Madison, Connecticut.

"I've never seen them so dense," she said.

Two summers ago jellyfish in the Sound got plenty of attention and I wrote about it a lot, here.

Tom. I agree, there were many more Lionsmane jellies in the Norwalk area two years ago. Media Hysteria?
