Westchester Sewage Plant Upgrade Is Behind Schedule
Westchester County is behind its state-mandated schedule in upgrading the Mamaroneck sewage treatment plant. They need permission from Mamaroneck Village to work longer hours, to get the job done by year's end. Nice reporting by Sound and Town Report, here.
Although it appears at this time that construction of the nitrogen removal upgrades will not be complete by the date set forth in the Consent Order with the NYSDEC for construction completion,December 31, 2012, current estimates indicate the upgrades will be completed soon enough after that date to allow the Mamaroneck Wastewater Treatment Plant to begin operation of the improvements and meet the Consent Order deadline date of June 30, 2013 for total nitrogen reductions at the Plant.
